Westminster Christian splits

Pitcher Brandon Siewert improved to 4-1 this season by striking out two without a walk in lifting the Warriors (12-7, 4-3) to a 9-4 victory over Chicago Christian in Game 1. Joe McGannon homered and Steve Berglund, Ryan Perez and Andrew Mason each doubled.

However, the Warriors committed 5 errors in a 12-11 loss in the nightcap. Westminster led 11-7 but allowed 4 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning after a rain delay.

"The first game was one of our best all year, but the second game was sad," Warriors coach Jeff Moeller said. "We make a couple routine plays and we walk out of there with a W."
