Patriots Sign Seven During Early Signing Period

Head Baseball Coach Dan Heefner has announced the signing of seven players to National Letters of Intent
during the early signing period. "Coach Wyckoff, Frieling and
I are very excited about this year's recruiting class. We feel
these players have the ability, character, and work ethic to make a significant contribution in the years to come," said Heefner. The early class for the Patriots includes six high school seniors and
one junior college transfer, three pitchers, one infielder, outfielder, catcher, and utility player.
The following
players signed National Letters of Intent with the Patriots this past week:
Landon Anderson (Grapevine Faith HS, Texas ) - Outfield
Anderson is a three-sport star at Faith Christian
High School in Grapevine. He is an All-State track athlete, quarterback of the football team, and District MVP and First Team
All-State selection on the baseball field. Landon runs a 6.65 60-yard dash and will
be looked at to add some speed to the top of the Patriot order. Landon is also a
member of the National Honor Society and is an Academic All-State performer in the classroom.
Ryan Behmanesh (Mansfield Summit HS, Texas ) -
IF/C/RHP
Behmanesh
is a versatile player and an offensive threat from the right side of the plate.
Playing for the Dallas Tigers this past summer he hit .410, with 2 homeruns and 15 doubles. During the spring with Mansfield Summit, he struck out only four times during the season. Behmanesh was also named a 2006 Mansfield Summit High School Scholar
Athlete.
Cody
Brooks ( Prestonwood Christian
Academy , Texas
) - Catcher
Brooks was
named TAPPS 2-5A All-District in each of the past three seasons. He
was also named this summer to the Under Armour Pre-Season All-American Team by BaseballFactory.com. Brooks is a switch-hitter and an outstanding defensive catcher. He will be a solid addition to the Patriots line up.
Trey
Frazier ( Prestonwood Christian
Academy , Texas
) - LHP
Frazier is
a tall projectable left-handed pitcher who knows how to pitch. Trey
was named TAPPS 2-5A All-District in 2007 and was an All-Tournament selection at the Brett Cowart Invitational. Frazier is a member of the National Honor Society and received the Top 10% Award from Prestonwood Academy

Travis Meiners ( Des Moines Area Community College, Iowa ) - Infield
Meiners is
the lone junior college sign for the Patriots and is a versatile infielder, who can play any position. Meiners hit .376, with 14 doubles and 5 triples for DMACC last season, while stealing 13
bases. For his efforts, he was named ICCAC All-Conference Second
Team. Originally, from Eyota, Minnesota , Meiners was named First Team All-State
in 2006.
Ben Palmer ( Westminster Christian High
School , Illinois ) - LHP
Palmer, a left-handed pitcher from Hampshire, Illinois
, was named First Team All-Area by the Courier News and the Daily Herald in 2007. Armed with an
outstanding breaking ball, he was also named PSL All-Conference and IHSA First Team All-State last season. Ben is also a member of the National Honor Society.
Brandon
Parrent ( Flower Mound High School, Texas ) - LHP
Parrent becomes
the third Flower Mound Jaguar pitcher to sign with the Patriots in the last three years, joining Jordan Meaker and Ryan Millard. Both Meaker and Millard have done big things for the Patriots on the
mound and Parrent looks to the do the same. Brandon was named First
Team All-District in District 6-5A, one of the toughest districts in the state, and will impact the Patriot pitching staff
for years to come.
